Yes. Free never expires and needs no credit card. You get one project, 500K AI tokens a month, three deep research runs, and every document format, which is enough to take a real piece of work from first paper to first draft.
Researcher and Pro save 20% with annual billing: €192/year for Researcher and €480/year for Pro. Lab costs €708/year for the PI plus €180/year per researcher, with no annual discount.
Researcher is built for working alone: 5 projects, 8M tokens, and every model. Pro is for when other people get involved. It adds sharing with up to 5 collaborators, real-time editing, 20 projects, 25M tokens, Claude Opus, and priority support.
Lab costs €59/month for the PI plus €15/month per researcher, or €708/year plus €180/year per researcher. The PI is included in the base price and does not occupy a researcher seat. Start with zero researchers and add seats as needed. For example, the PI and two researchers cost €89/month or €1,068/year. Prices exclude tax.
Tokens are credit weighted: one credit is roughly 1K tokens on a standard model, and stronger models draw down faster. Deep research is separate and never touches your token budget, because it runs on one fixed, efficient model.
Nothing breaks. Top up with a credit pack whenever you need one: 500 credits for €5, 1,600 for €15, or 5,500 for €50. Allowances reset every month.
No. Every plan, Free included, comes with models built in and no key to manage. If you'd rather keep everything on your own machine, local Ollama models work too.
Anytime, from your settings. Upgrades take effect immediately, downgrades at the end of the cycle, and there's no lock-in. Your data is always exportable.
You do. You can export your work in open formats on every plan. Whether files stay local, synchronize, or contribute selected context to cloud inference depends on the project and model configuration documented on the How Kosmo works page.
